On December 12 and 13, 2018, representatives of the Municipality of Sid visited the institution of local self-government and public health institutions in the city of Izmir, Turkey, a country that had experience and good practice in the care of the health of migrants and refugees. The aim of this study visit was the exchange of experiences and learning about good practices and experiences, in their application and adaptation to our context and needs.

On this occasion, tо the hosts from Turkey, as well as the representatives of local self-governments from Pirot and Vranje, who also participated in this study visit, ALMIT project was presented, project regarding the mapping and profiling of the skills of migrants in order to harmonize their needs and shortcomings in the relation to the labor market. This study visit to Turkey is an integral part of the European Union Support Program for Migration Management in Serbia, or the project Open Community – Successful Community, jointly implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations Office for the Project Services (UNOPS) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
